La pensée du jour:

Contrary to what some tangueros like to say, and although some milongueros would never admit it -

La vida no es un tango; y el tango no es la vida.

Just a thought...
They do merge sometimes, though.

Hum, not so sure about that... por supuesto tango es la vida! Perhaps just an aspect of life, but it is life. The words, the music, all representative of aspects of real life. Life is what inspired it in the first place. It's just important to not get lost in tango...

A milonguero once told me, "Tina, don't make your life a Tango!"

balance is key I suppose...

I think Tango is the pure reflection of life--of every minute of it! Of course that doesn't mean you should or would want to make your whole life about Tango... :)

Ladies,
you are quite right in that tango is a reflection of life, of course it is ´alive´; when I say el tango no es la vida, I mean tango is not (all there is to) life. Por supuesto el tango es vida, pero no es la vida.. ¿viste?
:)Besos!

I think I know what you mean by "La vida no es un tango; y el tango no es la vida."

Don't make tango your life, just part of your life. I am finally coming out of two years of tango is my life. And now I am much happier.
